Course Description

Heat exchangers are used worldwide in residential, commercial and industrial applications. This course will cover the design, arrangements, specifications and the sizing of industrial heat exchangers. There are many types of heat exchangers but this course will focus on Shell and Tube and Air Coolers. For design, both mechanical and heat transfer will be covered. In arrangements, the exchanger components will be defined and described. Specifications will include review of Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association (TEMA), API 660 for Shell and Tube exchangers, API 661 for Air Coolers and associated Data Sheets.

Intended audience is engineers that want to refresh their technical knowledge of heat exchangers. This class will let the audience better troubleshoot, specify and create inquiry packages for the purchase of heat exchangers.
